Role Purpose
SAS Consultant with strong SAS architecture and configuration experience to lead the implementation of the Enterprise SAS toolset. The role will incorporate:
· Technical leadership of the SAS environments.
· Planning and co-ordinating the technical SAS implementation.
· Configuring the SAS environments as defined in the SAS architecture design documents.
· Advising colleagues, both business and technical, on SAS best practice
· The establishment of protocols for on-going SAS development and configuration.
To be considered you will need strong SAS technical architectural experience and have worked on a number of SAS implementations. You will have the ability to translate analytical business requirements into technical solutions by working with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
As SAS consultant you will be the single point of responsibility for the technical implementation and the business configuration of the SAS environment.
· Leading the implementation of the SAS environment, to include co-ordinating the install and configuration of the SAS security model, SAS client/server configuration and SAS storage set up.
· Co-ordinating multiple stakeholders to achieve the above, this will involve the planning and management of the implementation tasks.
· Ensuring that the solution meets the business requirements by close collaboration and influencing IT and business stakeholders.
· Supporting the SAS analysts to ensure they are able to realise the full benefits of the SAS architecture.
· Verifying the implementation – ensuring the delivered system is consistent with the agreed architecture, and will meet the requirements.
· Provide support to the Business Intelligence design teams by prototyping data presentation through SAS.
Experience
With a passion for delivery and excellent communication, you will be able to demonstrate planning skills, have the ability to critically assess business requirements and deliver in a complex environment. Being a strong team player and results orientated-driven, you will thrive under pressure and demonstrate outstanding communication skills. This is coupled with first class SAS technical expertise.
· 4-6 years Business Intelligence experience with a minimum of 3 years SAS experience.
· Successful delivery of at least two major SAS implementation.
· Experience of configuring SAS in a structured IT department.
· Understanding of performance optimization and hardware problem resolution.
· Experience of defining and managing non-functional requirements.
· Experience of using an Agile development methodology using prototypes.
Technical Skills
· Excellent technical experience of SAS administration: Client, Portal Configuration, SAS Server, SAS Management Console, Security Set up and SAS Library Definition.
· Good technical experience of Linux operating system and Linux security groups.
· Experience of disk storage allocation (to support SAS datasets).
· Appreciation of client configuration and trouble shooting.
· Development experience in major SAS toolsets (Enterprise Miner, Enterprise Guide)
· Experience of SAS BI functions (Stored Processes)
· Configuration management, release and version control within SAS.
