Skills & Experience
· 5+ year of Datastage Development Experience with at least 3 years being Administrating IBM Information Server, metadata workbench, and data quality desired
· Understanding of DataStage 8.1 system architecture Essentials (Server or Enterprise Edition) concepts
· Understanding DataStage Server Internals
· Understanding of Window / Unix / Linux operating system administration skills
· Exposure to Autosys scheduler
· RDBMS knowledge
Job Description
The person selected for this role will be responsible for the management of the servers that support IBM InfoSphere Information Server V8.x, and its components: DataStage, Quality Stage, the Metadata Repository and Metadata Workbench. Management of the server requires the performance of these tasks: security compliance, user access, connectivity, product licensing, logs management, server monitoring, reporting, backup and recovery
- DataStage server Installation and Configuration in a Unix/Linux Environment
- Configure Database connectivity (Example: DB2, Oracle, Sybase, ODBC, etc…)
- Administer
- Start and Stop DataStage server
- DataStage Job Locks
- Security , Project , User and group setup
- Scripting Production Monitoring , Alerts , Production Admin Task Automation
- Setup Job Parameters
- Setup Environment Variables
- Backup and restore considerations
- Plan , Test and Perform of Upgrades and Patches
- Performance tuning
- Application Deployment
- Monitoring all server components
- Working with Development team & Scheduling team to troubleshoot issues
- Perform capacity planning.
- File system monitoring and maintenance
- Troubleshooting
- Work with IBM on analyzing server issues.
