Job description:
- The Role would be to gather knowledge on Enterprise Management Information Reporting and for understanding the design and Architecture of MicroStrategy Reports and Report Services Documents.
- Attend or facilitate meetings to identify/ clarify Reporting requirements and judge the technical feasibility.
- Understand the data model and mapping of schema objects to the columns in the warehouse
- Understand the development cycle including analysis, design, build, test and production support.
- Understand full testing cycle including bug fixes (Assembly, System and Production).
- Understand the Code Deployments and migration activities across the various environments.
- Knowledge of the existing build of the Management Information system running at the parent company.
· Understand the Production Support Activities – Defect Fixes, Change Request implementations, enhancements and release verification/validation tasks.
- Application deployment
- Migrations and upgrades of objects, metadata
Desirable
- MicroStrategy Installation, configuration and Administration of Iserver, Narrowcast server, MicroStrategy Web and Enterprise Manager Administer the Micro Strategy servers and applications.
- Setting up MicroStrategy Project level configurations and VLDB settings
- Configure metadata and base reporting objects. Administer security, tune system/report performance and troubleshoot reporting and data issues.
- MSTR Projects setup
- MSTR admin setup/support for all projects (like creating the user groups, giving the appropriate privileges to the user base, I-server monitoring, Server usage, Server performance related activities, server level security setup, server level VLDB settings, database instance creation, server cache setup etc.,)
- MSTR admin related governance
- History List and Cache Management
- Managing and Monitoring Intelligent Cubes
- Enabling and Managing Change Journal
- Tuning data models, metadata, cubes and drill through reports
- Configure Micro Strategy user security profile/logins
- Configure Micro Strategy distribution services
- Trouble shooting server issues.
- Working with Microstrategy Product support to resolve issues.
Skill sets:
- Oracle 11g, SQL and PL SQL.
- Experience in Micro strategy Dashboard & Report Design & Development
- Understanding of Microstrategy 9.0.1 system architecture Essentials (Server or Enterprise Edition) concepts
- Understanding Microstrategy Server Internals
- Understanding basics Unix / Linux operating system administration skills
- RDBMS knowledge
- Strong problem analysis and resolving skills.
Qualifications needed for the role
- Bachelors of Engineering.
- 7+ Years of IT experience with at least 5+ Years in Microstrategy report Design & Development.
- Hands on experience on experience on the existing systems data structure and data warehousing knowledge.
- Strong functional requirement gathering and client interaction and communication skills.
- Exposure to Financial Domain will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to Microstrategy Administration on a Linux platform will be an added advantage
