The JD is as follows;
ASSIGNMENT BRIEF

Role
Term of Contract JAVA Developer
6 months- Extendable


Key Deliverables:


1. Work with Product Definition and Development teams. As part of the team the candidate will
need to:
a) Develop new features in the Java Front End - following a plan given by the Unit Manager
and according to specifications.
b) Ensure the quality of the code produced by providing unit, performance, End-to-End and
non-regression tests covering the delivered functionality.
c) Analyse and fix defects raised by test teams or customers.
d) Participate in the current re-factoring exercise in the context of production-readiness activities (memory leak tracking and performance improvements).
2. Liaising with Airline representatives, Client technical staff, and external suppliers as
Necessary.
3. Produce detailed screen design documentation (depending on functional area).



Technical Skills

Other Criteria

1. Professional experience in JAVA Swing GUI development.
2. A strong background in core JAVA software development.
3. Understanding of project life cycle and development environments.
4. Comprehensive understanding of Object Orientated design concepts backed up By practical software design experience.

Other Criteria

1. Exposure to relevant project work (large
scale projects).
2. Strong analytical and design skills.
3. Working to challenging time-scales.
4. Airline procure knowledge - ideally DCS.
(Desirable).
